Every family's journey is unique. Some parents feel ready to connect with others in the Down syndrome community soon after their child is born, while others may choose to reach out later when questions arise or a stronger support network is needed.

Whenever you feel ready, our Downright Lucky Team is here to listen, share experiences, and provide guidance. Each team member has completed specialized training through the Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS) and understands the importance of a safe, supportive space for open conversations. Your privacy is our priority—all team members have signed a confidentiality agreement to ensure your information remains secure.

Parent mentors are also available to support families of older children, offering guidance and resources to navigate the challenges and joys of raising a child with Down syndrome.

“No one can understand the range and depth of feelings that accompany the birth of a baby with Down syndrome as well as another parent who has been there. And no one can offer more trustworthy evidence of hope, healing and survival as a parent who has accomplished those things can.”

—Lou Weiss, Ph.D., Psychologist
